The Broken Statue

[Documentary]

In 1940, a military plan called ‘Operation Green’ was devised by the German army to invade Ireland. During the early part on WWII, Sean Russell had meetings in Germany with German officers. Many in Ireland now regard Seán Russell with disgust while others see him as a hero who sought Irish Freedom. In recent years, his statue in Central Dublin was vandalised many times by Anti-fascists.

This documentary explores the journey from a young boy to a broken statue.
